Coleman C300 Performance Gas Cartridge (240g)

After a long day on the trail, few things beat a hot meal and a cup of tea at camp. But a stove is only as good as the fuel that runs it. A weak or sputtering flame means cold water, undercooked food and a lot of waiting around as the sun goes down. The Coleman C300 gas cartridge gives your camping stove a steady, dependable flame, so you can boil water, cook dinner and brew your morning coffee quickly and without fuss.

Each cartridge holds 240g of Coleman’s Performance gas, a 70/30 blend of butane and propane. Butane burns efficiently in mild weather, while propane helps maintain pressure when temperatures drop, giving you a more consistent flame than standard butane-only cartridges. The threaded, screw-on connection attaches securely to compatible stoves and lanterns, and Coleman’s resealable safety valve means you can unscrew the cartridge after use without gas leaking out.

Why Choose the Coleman C300 Gas Cartridge?

The resealable valve on Coleman C300 Gas Cartridge is one of the biggest advantages. With older pierceable cartridges, once you punctured the can, it had to stay attached to the stove until it was empty. With the C300, you can cook, disconnect, pack the stove away separately and save the remaining gas for your next trip. That makes it safer to carry, easier to pack and less wasteful.

Coleman C300 Gas Cartridge is well sized for most trips. At 240g, it holds enough butane gas for a weekend of camp cooking for a small group, while still fitting easily into a backpack. Pair it with a lightweight camping stove and you have a compact, reliable cooking setup for any campsite or overnight hike.

Where to Use the Coleman C300 Gas Cartridge in Kenya

Kenya has no shortage of great places to cook under the stars. Campsites at Hell’s Gate, Lake Naivasha and Mt Longonot are perfect for weekend trips, and overnight camps in the Aberdares, Kinangop and Mt Elgon are much more comfortable with a hot dinner and a warm drink. Many hikers also carry a small stove on sunrise hikes to Ngong Hills or Elephant Hill for tea at the top. On Mt Kenya, the C300 works well at the lower and middle camps. At the coldest, highest camps, keep the cartridge warm inside your jacket or sleeping bag before cooking to get the best performance.

Butane/propane cartridges like this one are among the most popular fuels for camping stoves because they are clean-burning, easy to use and need no priming or pumping. You can read more about the C300 and its intended uses on the official Campingaz & Coleman product page. For anyone who camps or hikes overnight, a reliable gas supply is one of the most important things in your pack, and the Coleman C300 gas cartridge is a trusted, practical choice.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will this Coleman C300 Gas Cartridge fit my stove?

The C300 uses a threaded screw-on connection and is designed for Coleman’s resealable screw-on appliances. Many other screw-on camping stoves use a similar thread, but not all of them do. Message us on WhatsApp with your stove model and we’ll confirm compatibility before you buy.

How long does one cartridge last?

It depends on your stove, the flame setting and the weather, but Coleman C300 Gas Cartridge 240g typically covers a weekend of cooking for one or two people. For longer trips or larger groups, carry a spare.

Does Coleman C300 Gas Cartridge work in cold weather?

The 70/30 blend performs better in cool conditions than butane-only gas, and it’s rated for use down to around freezing. In sub-zero conditions, such as the highest camps on Mt Kenya, keep the cartridge warm before use to maintain a good flame.

Can I carry it on a plane?

No. Gas cartridges are not allowed in checked or carry-on luggage on flights. If you’re flying to your trek, buy your fuel at your destination.
